Vassiliko Port is the third largest port in Cyprus, owned by the Cyprus Port Authority and operated by the Vassiliko Cement factory. It is located in between the other main two ports of Limassol and Larnaca (about 20 km from each) and is ideally suited to service the whole island, being equidistant from all of the main feed consumption areas of Cyprus. It can accommodate ships of up to 180m LOA and 8.5m draft.
Only selected few third parties are allowed to operate at this industrial port and our company is proud to have been the first to secure about 10.000 sqm of prime land just outside the port gate and at a distance of only 100m from the quay-side. M.D. Cyprus Soya Ltd is the only grains and feeds operator to utilize this port.
The establishment of our terminal at Vassiliko is planned in three phases. Phase1 has been completed with the purchase and installation of the mobile NEUERO pneumatic unloader with a capacity of 150 mts per hour, together with the building of three flat stores each of 800 sqm and a total capacity of about 6000 mt of grains. Phase 2 will see the building of 4 silos each of 2.500 mts capacity, adding about 10.000 mts of grains storage and handling with the possibility to establish a direct conveyor link to from the quay-side ship unloading point. Phase 3 will consist of a grains basic processing plant for creating value added products for the market.
